What happens when a scientist with a lifelong curiosity about the world’s ancient mysteries decides to go see them for herself?
In Around the World in 42 Days, Dr. Imogene Drakes takes readers on a light-hearted solo journey across six continents—through missed flights, unexpected detours, remarkable encounters, and some of the world’s most intriguing ancient sites.
From Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands to Mohenjo-Daro, Giza, and Stonehenge, she brings a scientist’s eye, a traveler’s curiosity, and an open mind to questions humanity has asked for centuries.
Part travel memoir, part personal quest, Around the World in 42 Days is an invitation to explore the world, question what we think we know, and enjoy the surprises along the way.
